Bridge Design

SDR engineers and technicians have been directly responsible for the design and detailing of conventional and major types of bridges. As well as conventional bridges, we specialize in the design, detailing, construction and erection techniques for cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete segmental box bridges. We also have extensive experience with major, continuous-span structural steel plate girder and box girder bridges.

Building Design

SDR staff has been responsible for the design and detailing of and served as Engineer-of-Record for structure types including: stadiums, coliseums, multi-level parking garages, office buildings, classroom buildings, condominiums and apartment complexes, prison facilities, motels and hotels, warehouses, medical facilities, industrial buildings, wastewater treatment plants, mechanical-draft and hyperbolic-draft concrete cooling towers, pedestrian overpass bridges, and renovations to existing structures.

Construction Engineering

SDR engineers are directly responsible for the design and detailing of construction means and methods for many major and complex bridges. The term “Construction Engineer? is also referred to as a “Specialty Engineer?and is defined by the Florida DOT as “…a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Florida, other than the Engineer of Record or his subcontracted consultant, who undertakes the design and drawing preparation of components, systems, or installation methods and equipment for specific portions of the project work??

Non-Destructive Testing

SDR Engineering has over 15 years experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) and condition evaluation. Our clients include the Florida, Georgia and Texas Departments of Transportation. Our technical expertise in structural performance guarantees our clients the optimum solutions to structural repair and rehabilitation. We provide diagnostic testing, complete investigations, engineering support, construction services and inspection.

Instrumentation

The staff at SDR Engineering Inc. has been working with high performance civil engineering transducers for over 15 years. Civil engineering transducers can be used to monitor a wide array of engineering measurements thus allowing the designer to guarantee certain minimum material states.
