Mohsen Shahawy
President / CEO
Mohsen A. Shahawy, Ph.D., P.E. has devoted his entire 25-year career to structural
engineering of buildings and bridges with contractors, designers, design/build firms,
the Florida Department of Transportation and other agencies. He is proficient in
structural design and analysis of multistory buildings, construction inspection
and structural rehabilitation of buildings and bridges. He has published over 130
papers in the areas of prestressed and reinforced concrete bridge performance, structural
testing and evaluation, dynamic behavior of bridges and bridge rehabilitation. He
is a pioneer in developing new and innovative repair methods utilizing composite
materials and has several patents to his name.
Haoyang Liu
Project Engineer / Research Engineer
Haoyang Liu, Ph.D. has over seven years experience in numeric modeling, analysis
and optimization of structural systems. He has developed several computer programs
with advanced Graphic User Interface that are currently being utilized in both teaching
and research. He has authored a number of graphically interactive computer programs
for the analysis of steel and composite structures. His research interests include
computational mechanics, information processing, structural dynamics, structural
optimization, microstructure/property characterization, modeling and simulation,
and application of artificial intelligence. Dr. Liu has an interdisciplinary education
and research background in structural engineering, computer science and mathematical
science. His publications appear not only in the structural engineering field, but
are also in the global optimization and artificial intelligence areas.
