MAS2000 Fiber Wrap System

Technical Specifications

The MAS2000 Fiber Wrap System is an ultra-high strength carbon-fiber composite that has been engineered for external structural reinforcement.

This innovative system can increase the load carrying capacity of bridges, piers, parking decks, elevated floors, columns and beams by 70% without member enlargement and down time.

Site Preparation

The site in question receiving the MAS2000 Fiber Wrap System must be provided with adequate ventilation and easy access to the damaged sections by either lift vehicles or scaffolding.

In situations where pedestrian or public access is possible, care should be taken to prevent adhesive runoff. Typical restraining systems include plastic sheeting and canvas tarps hung so that repaired area is confined.

Surface Preparation

The concrete surface must be prepared prior to installation of the MAS2000 Fiber Wrap System.

Surfaces that are missing portions of the cross-section must have the section re-formed to the original shape through application of high-strength concrete mortar. In sections where reinforcing is exposed, additional concrete must be removed to further expose the steel. The reinforcement must then be sandblasted clean and the surrounding section rebuilt.

After the surface has been restored to the original shape, the region receiving the MAS2000 Fiber Wrap System must be lightly sandblasted such that voids and laitance are removed. The concrete surface must then be pressure washed to further remove fines and insure perfect bond.

Design Details

Design calculations must be provided by a qualified structural composites application engineer. SDR Engineering makes no warranties or guarantees of any application that has not met their minimum design acceptance levels.
